Paithalmala

As a part of the grand Western Ghats, Paithalmala provides a panoramic view of the mountain ranges.

At 4600 ft, it is the highest peak in Kannur. A hill station that offers a breathtaking view of Kerala on one side and Karnataka on the other, meaning the forests of Coorg and the plains of Kannur, need we say Paithalmala has to be a must-visit on your list? Best described as a jungle trek destination, a leisurely pace would take one to the top of Paithalmala in 2-3 hours. Atop the hill, it is a meadow  enveloped in a blanket of mist that receives visitors. The presence of the streams add to the beauty of this plastic-free zone. With no time restrictions, you can spend as much time as possible and return by evening. Do stock up on sufficient water and food for the trek back.
