Dharmadam Beach

Dharmadam, meaning place of ethics, is an island beach named so by Buddhist monks who frequented the place to collect medicinal herbs that grew there.

Dharmadam is a slice of tropical heaven also known as Green Island for the many coconut trees and other indigenous flora present there. The island is surrounded by the Anjarakandy and Thalassery rivers on either side and the Arabian Sea on the third.

Folks can stroll through the knee-deep waters to the island during a low tide where one can witness the confluence of the blue waters. Be a child again, pick the vibrant sea shells that line the shore and string them to make garlands, let the sand and sea tease your feet and enjoy the sunshine.
